Brooklyn Research consulted and worked with Diller Scofidio + Renfro and the Jewish Museum to subtly integrate new technologies into an exhibit on the works and life of noted French architect and designer Pierre Chareau.
One of the parts Brooklyn Research worked on was the creation of a moving clipping plane that provided a moving cross-sectional view of the Maison de Verre architectural landmark. It consisted of a screen mounted over an architectural drawing of the Maison de Verre that slowly moved through the different rooms while a rendered cross-section of the rooms is scrolled through. At certain points, the screen stops its movement to display videos highlighting specific features of the landmark house.
Other parts include synchronized videos of shadow figures going about day to day activities within the room and VR displays with a virtual rendering of the rooms as they exist within the building.
